Splice detector
Industrial filling processes use polyethylen tapes for sealing. The 5 to 50 μm thick and 10 km long tapes are furled on spools. As the long tapes are produced in smaller pieces they are spliced together. These splices are dangerous for the filling process since they could cause leakages or process interruptions.
Our system detects the splices so that they can be cut out. This increases the filling process stability and the product quality. The splice detector works with capacitive coupling and can easyliy be adjusted to several tape gauges.
