We have currently 2 open positions:1. Project Lead EngineerNeeds at least 3 years of post-graduate experience. Hands-on knowledge of electronic hardware design is required, plus the demonstrated ability to carry responsibility for a project. Existing contacts to space agencies (DLR, ESA, NASA) are beneficial. A broad technical expertise is as important as an enthousiastic attitude towards technical excellence. Good knowledge of physics and LASER technology or optics is beneficial. In addition, you should fulfill all of the requirements for the Electronics Design Engineer below. 2. About us...vH&S is an independent R&D company (SME/KMU status) with approx. 20 employees, located in Schwetzingen near Heidelberg. Since more than 35 years our business consists of: scientific space and rocket-borne systems, robotic systems for planetary exploration, medical analytical systems, custom sensor systems, and developments for science and industry in general. Our main activities are the broad range of concept finding, theoretical and experimental studies, system architecture, detailed design and development, fabrication, and qualification of scientific space instruments for applications in extraterrestrial missions. Our rocket-borne instruments are used for exploration of the higher atmosphere. Our products are known for their high precision, quality, and longevity in harsh environments. Our projects typically involve international cooperations with partners from ESA, NASA, research institutes and industry. About You...You are best suited for the broad range of design activities awaiting you, if you have excellent theoretical and practical design knowledge in mixed precision analog and digital electronics (particularly miniaturized high-speed, low-noise, and low-power systems), CCD control and signal processing, ADCs, custom high-voltage and DC/DC converters, including mixed circuit simulations. Knowledge in FPGA design (Verilog, VHDL, embedded processors) would be beneficial, as well as in sensor and laser technology, mechatronics, algorithms and operational software, reliability analysis, and high-rel parts procurement. You are our ideal candidate, if you have a degree (Master, PhD) in electronics engineering, topped by a great general interest in technology and physics (you might have already tested this by practical work during your study, or one of your hobbies; you are welcome to describe these projects in your application). You should be highly motivated and flexible, also be willing to take over organizational tasks.
